SIBYL is Bilek’s follow-up project to his book Proteus. It is a single DVD that last three hours and forty one minutes. In this very powerful project Bilek teaches how to connect to an individual’s inner soul. It is propless mentalism (excluding the paper) that has the potential to touch your spectator deeply. Quite frankly, this is scary stuff and has the potential to be used improperly. Bilek teaches how to use the taught methods and have the spectator feel better and happier after a quick session.
The ad copy states:

One thing that you should know is that this is not easy stuff. You cannot watch this DVD and start doing readings. You need to be very well versed in the taught methods and routines and most of all you need to practice. I would say that your journey in mentalism and cold readings will result in hits and misses and this DVD will steer you in the direction of more hits. There are no guarantees, but this will increase your effectiveness in reading the minds of your spectators.
To be successful with Bilek’s methods, you need to believe what you are doing is real. You need to be able to roll with the punches and you needs to know when to slow down and speed up. This all comes with practice. Bilek’s routines are structured in a way in which he very quickly gets to a point where you have a hold over your spectator and can help them release past pain and inspire them in the future.
The DVD starts off with Bilek conducting three one-on-one readings with different individuals. You can see how Bilek uses the same structure, but how they are all very different. You can see how Bilek is able to reach the individuals and create an emotional atmosphere in which they let down their guard. In one of the readings, one spectator almost burst into tears before Bilek turned it around and explained how a painful experience was a positive event in her life.
After the three readings, Titanas and Bilek explain and review the routines in detail. Even though the DVD is almost four hours, I would daresay that I could easily have watched ten hours of Bilek performing and explaining how he navigated the routines with different spectators. When you see bad cold reading it is really horrendous. But, when you see something as skilled and practiced as Bilek’s routines, it is truly awesome. The only negative that I can point out is that Titanas is not properly hooked up with a microphone so his audio is very low.
Also on the DVD is a 57 page PDF that is a very useful tool to use with the DVD. It outlines the routines and is a good quick reference guide.
I was utterly impressed and inspired by this project. I’m hooked!
