Gaff-Tacular is Liam Montier’s presentation of 6 Stephen Tucker tricks using gaffed cards. This is another solid project by Montier and Big Blind Media.
With your $26.95 purchase of Gaff-Tacular, you get a DVD with 6 tricks and the necessary handful of gaffed cards to perform these tricks. Many of the cards you will no doubt already have or have seen before. Nothing to crazy.
The tricks vary in theme and presentation from disappearing cards to printing cards and as the ad-copy states, the “tricks are fun, social and FOOLING!” The fact that the tricks are marketed as fun and social caused me to correctly anticipate tricks that you will likely do your family, friends and co-workers, but not necessarily as a working pro on a gig. These tricks are not magician foolers and it would be wise to leave these tricks to a less sophisticated audience that is not familiar with and cannot recognize and understand the import of common moves such as a double-lift. In any event, the tricks are very good and I will use a few of them.
The DVD production is Big Blind Media excellent, once again. Liam Montier performs each trick, sometimes to an audience of women, sometimes alone at a table and once to an adorable little girl. After the performance, he teaches each trick in depth and as usual with perfect clarity. The tricks are easy to learn and easy to perform.
My biggest criticism of the DVD was that there wasn’t enough content. I would have expected around 10 tricks, but c’est la vie, it only contains 6. Nonetheless, I really like this project and can highly recommend it. Liam Montier and Big Blind Media deliver a top-notch product once again.
